Homeless shelters are seeing more people than ever before.

The Friends of the Homeless Shelter on Worthington Street in Springfield provided beds for 150 people on one recent night. Generally they see numbers like that in the wintertime.

Bill Miller, Executive Director, of Friends of the Homeless, told 22News, "People being served right now as high as they were in January. So that's not a good sign. We've had over 800 people who have come to us for shelter services so far this year, it's the highest we've ever seen."
