Friends of Homeless thankful this season
Thank you to the many individuals, organizations, groups and businesses who have made contributions to the Friends of the Homeless this year.

What happens here during the weeks surrounding Christmas can be especially heartening. It is a time of year that people often feel called to be charitable. Our shelter services, and so many other worthy causes in our communities, are the recipients of that calling. And while surely not everyone who makes a donation of Christmas gifts or funds is looking for thanks, we want to be sure and say thank you anyway.

Thank you to the lovely family who, when they lost their elderly father, asked that donations be made in his name to help the less fortunate during the holiday season when losses can be felt the most. Thank you to the group of children who spent hours packing gift bags, and their parents, so that no woman in shelter would go without having some gift to open of cosmetics, or gloves, or a small bottle of perfume. Thank you to the veteran who loaded his pickup truck with food that he purchased and dropped off so that no one would go hungry. When he saw how much need there was, he went and filled his truck again. And thank you to the residents of our programs themselves, who made cookies and wrapped them and gave them out to all of us.

We were blessed to receive these gifts. It is good to be touched by Christmas cheer. Thank you to each one of you. You keep the spirit of the season alive
