Homeless people in Springfield will soon be able to go online to help get their lives back on track.

Mammie Smith uses the new computer bank at the Worthington Street shelter. She told 22News that she will use the Internet to find information that can help her improve her life. "Find a job or apartment; it is to get yourself not to be homeless," she said.

Patrick Thomas has found a job in the Springfield suburbs. Going online will help him locate the Pioneer Valley Transit Authority bus to get him to his job. "It helps me figure out the schedule and find out which bus I need to get to when I need to be," Thomas said.

Verizon employees and retirees donated $5 thousand for the computer bank at the homeless shelter.
