Springfield's Friends of the Homeless director says demand straining shelters' resources

The executive director of Friends of the Homeless said Friday there has been a great demand for beds at the Worthington Street shelter, straining resources and raising the chance some individuals will have to be turned away.

The situation occurs as some winter shelters have closed or are about to close for the summer season.
