Journey In My Shoes - June 16, 2011
Thank you to our Corporate Sponsors and Friends for making Journey In My Shoes, the first ever FOH fundraiser a huge success. Not only did we raise over $15,000 dollars for homeless services, we expanded our circle of friends and together learned more about the journey, of homeless individuals and our community.
Just weeks after a tornado touched down in Springfield and some surrounding communities, over 150 people gathered at the Barney Estate Carriage House in Forest Park for an evening of celebration. Through a multi-media presentation of photos, personal stories and the debut of “Rescue Me,” a moving 14 minute video (which can be viewed on the FOH Homepage –insert link here) , we traveled from a tumultuous time in our city’s history to today, when we are operating the only Homeless Resource Center in the region. No one who attended will soon forget the personal journeys that were shared from homelessness to housed.
