Old First Church Fund for the Homeless of Greater Springfield

The permanently endowed fund at the Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts was established in November of 2009 after the closing and sale of Old First Church.  Friends of the Homeless, Inc. was selected as the fund beneficiary by a vote of the Congregation "because of its coordinated initiative and collaboration centered on the Homeless Resource Center and its 10-year objectives."

During it's long history in Springfield, Old First Church and its congregates provided financial help, donations, food, emergency shelter, counseling, facilities and many hours of volunteer work to help people who are homeless.  Friends of the Homeless Inc., is honored to be entrusted to continue the tradition of Old First Church's work and we are most thankful for the financial legacy that will help us along the way.
