Our Mission

Friends of the Homeless, Inc. is a registered 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that is committed to assisting people who are homeless. We strive to bring dignity to people's lives during their difficult journey from homelessness to stability and independence. We believe that every person deserves a place to call HOME.

Friends of the Homeless does this by providing emergency overnight and day shelter, housing and support services for hundreds of men and women each year. We also advocate for public and private resources to end local and regional homelessness.

 Founded in 1988, Friends of the Homeless, Inc. owns and operates properties at 769 and 501 Worthington Street. We are in the midst of a $12.5 million dollar construction and renovation project to allow a more comprehensive delivery of services on our Worthington Street campus aimed at helping homeless individuals become self-reliant members of society.
